On the 24th of March, Japan's prime minister and the head of the International Olympic Committee finally decided to move the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games to next year.
This delay was made and was positively received due to the global fight against the coronavirus. It was not an easy decision for Tokyo with sports venues finished well ahead of time and tickets massively oversubscribed.
One day earlier, UEFA made the decision to postpone the men's and women's Champions League finals and the Europa League final due to the serious health crisis in Europe.
Europe’s death toll now surpasses those in China, as the number of new cases also jumped.
“UEFA has formally taken the decision to postpone the club finals originally scheduled for May 2020,” a statement read.
